STATUS QUO: "Caroline" (Vertigo)

Nicely out of tune guitars, a hint of feedback, the oldest riffs in the book, and you all's got Status Quo, hurling themselves back in the fray, and headed for another chart huster.

It's pub rock with pints of lager swilling over the sawdust, elbows digging into ribs, and close range BO attacks. Over to Horace Roller for his views on this latest rock revival. "Well you know my views boss. Rock and roll has never really gone away."

Too true Horace, But don't you think it odd such simple music should make such impact in three year cycles? "Well no, not really Guvnor. Let's face it the kids are sick of light shows, freak-outs and psychedelia." Agreed, but that was the reason for the 1968 rock revival. "Cripes, you're right. Well, maybe the public are sick of something else. At any rate, I'm hoping with Status, and that's a fact." Right on Horace, if I may use such an indelicate turn of phrase. Maybe one should say, " crazy man crazy."
