Rock's New Year in Britain gets off to a great start with the opening of the four-night Great British Musical Festival at the massive Kensington Olympia in London.
WEDNESDAY (New Year's Eve): 3pm to 12.30am (approx.). Doors open 2.30pm. Last train from Olympia for District and Piccadilly lines: 11.28pm. STATUS QUO, STEVE MARRIOTT'S ALL STARS, THIN LIZZY, CLIMAX BLUES BAND, STEVE GIBBONS' BAND, DOCTORS OF MADNESS
A night of boogie to ring in '76. Status Quo's fans will be out in force for the occasion and Messrs. Rossi, Parfitt, Lancaster and Coghlan will give them something hard and rocking to remember them by for the rest of the year.
And the rest of the concert has as much attack. There's the raunchy approach of Steve Marriott, and Thin Lizzy will win themselves many friends if their performance is up to that at recent concerts.
