BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Status Quo's front man lives in a comfortable house in the Surrey countryside and spends plenty of time pottering round his big back garden.
"I'm not what you'd call a keen gardener," he admits, "but I've got a reasonable-sized garden and I do enjoy it."
Apart from a large lawn and a few flower beds, he's got a small vegetable patch boasting potatoes, onions, marrows, beetroot, beans and, this year, a particularly productive crop of tomatoes.
But even more than messing about with a spade and some compost, Francis enjoys just lazing around.
"I like to sit in the garden - I even like to sleep out there - because you're cut off from everything, especially the phone."
