STATUS QUO
Hammersmith Odeon, London

WELL here we are and here we are and here we go, and it's clear that the person who invented "disco" music was a complete cretin. All you need are the Fifties rock 'n' rollers, '69 Motown, the Stones, Gary Glitter, Slade and, particularly, Status Quo and you have the ultimate dancefloor.

Unfortunately, there's no dancefloor in the Odeon, but we tried our level best in the few square inches of space at our individual disposal. And you don't need space for singing, so that was okay.

I personally hope that Status Quo are still doing this when they're 90, and that I'm still doing it with them. Some things were made to last, and I'm not just talking about Rossi's bum...
