WHY I HATE QUO STARS
by the guitarist they kicked out

SACKED Status Quo bass player Alan Lancaster has spoken for the first time about his hatred for Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi who kicked him out of the band after 23 years.

The 38-year-od rock star, now based in Australia says: "I don't want them to step within three feet of me.

"What they did was cowardly and it leaves a very bad taste.

"I've still got the knife hanging out of my back."

Alan, who has formed a new group, The Party Boys, claims Parfitt and Rossi didn't have the guts to tell him face-to-face he was sacked.

"I found out by a letter in the post," he says.

"I treated them as brothers but basically they looked upon me as a hired musician even after 23 years with the group."

Alan lashed out at Quo's decision, earlier this year, to play in South Africa.

"Only the lowest of the low would play Sun City," he says.

"It's not just the money, it's the morals behind it.

"Actually I've fallen into a bed of roses with the new group," he adds.

"I reckon I'm lucky. I'm the one that got away."
