STATUS QUO: Marguerita Time (Vertigo) A sign of the times indeed when good old Quo get caught up in the new cocktail boom. They obviously know the circles their market is moving in this weather. I mean, have you been down Shoreditch High Street recently? It's surreal, bleedin' surreal mate. You open up a door to what looks like a good old East End pub and you're hit by a bouquet of fragrant nancy boy drinks and, to add insult to injury, they probably have turned the bar into a big fake grand piano. You need a drink after that, for sure.
This is nowhere near as good as some of the singles Quo have made in the past - a lumpy after hours singalong. Sort of Chas and Dave meet beergut blues. Should have them sloshing down the pints, I mean Margueritas, merrily enough though.
