COGHLAN UPSETS THE STATUS QUO
ON the eve of Status Quo's twentieth anniversary, drummer John Coghlan has announced that he is to quit the band.
Coghlan, a founder member of the band, is to concentrate on his own outfit, John Coghlan's Diesel Band, a group which originally started as a "good-time" conglomeration.
The remaining members of Quo - Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster - are going back to Montreux in Switzerland this months (sic) to finish off their upcoming album, which features Coghlan.
There's no word yet about a replacement for Coghlan. - BRIAN HARRIGAN.
