STATUS QUO
YES, indeed, it seems that when they sang "Down, Down, Deeper and Down", they were referring to the spiralling descent of their characters. The cretaces ou cretins, after an extensive tour and inspection of a five-star hotel in Johannesburg to check for offending shanty-towns and unwarranted detainees gave their unfussy consciences the all-clear to bring their stinted pub-rock to the South Effrikan scum of Sun City. We all decided to sell all our Quo LPs and pool the revenue to send to the ANC but, sadly, we only managed to raise 8p.
