This album is so wretchedly dismal that no sane listener should be able to bear more than a few notes at a time. Ever since it followed up "Pictures of Matchstick Men" with "Ice Melts in the Sun" by merely interchanging a few notes in the songs' mutual riff, Status Quo has made a career of purveying the eternal boogie lick. With Hello Status Quo maintains the status quo - near-undiscernible variations of hashed-over boogie shrouded by Wishbone Ash-cum-Slade meatgrinder presentations. After hearing such monotonous noise one can only hope that Hello proves to be Status Quo's
