Quo set city alight
'ERE we QUO, 'ere we QUO, 'ere we QUO... Seeing Status Quo live is like being in the crowd when your team win the FA Cup Final.Terrace yells fill the air and the atmosphere is electric enough to light Blackpool illuminations, The audience at the band's sell-out Birmingham NEC gig spanned THREE decades. Middle-aged rockers rubbed shoulders with teen fans won over by newer smashes like Burning Bridges.
The reasons for their loyalty were obvious the minute the band kicked off their TWO HOUR set.
Quo's show is a powerhouse display of hot, pumping boogie stuffed with hits, from Rocking All Over The World to In The Army Now.
Complaints? Classics, like Wild Side Of Life, are thrown away in medleys while there isn't time for other greats.
On the plus side new Quo-sters, bassist John Edwards, drummer Jeff Rich and keyboard player Andrew Bown, are faultless.Bizarre rating: Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt may be the only stars who dress down to go on stage. but their show is sure to lift you up.
