Porsche-mad Rick Parfitt is a man with a mission. And that quest has shot him straight into the finals of the doting-dad-of-the-year competition. The Status Quo star, who has owned nine Porsches in 12 years and whose collection of rare models currently numbers 100, wants a scaled-down version of the yuppie's favourite car for his 11-month-old son, Richard. Despite an $8,700-odd price tag, Rocking Rick's determined to see his namesake beatling around the garden as soon as he's old enough. But one thing the Porscheaholic star plans to do first is teach the little nipper that it's safety first.
