The three-day Crossed Guitars Festival took place in Frieschepalen from May 21st to 23rd. Kicking things off on Thursday were local act 'The Big Bam Boom Band', followed by boogie rockers 'Hercules' who apparently went down very well with the Ma Kelly's crowd! Friday night saw Mikey and Jimmy treating the Quo crowd to a rare hour-long acoustic set, including such hidden gems as "Breaking Away", "Antique Angelique" and "Nothing At All". This was followed by a stonking three-hour set from Staid As Quo featuring plenty of old favourites such as "Over And Done" and "A Reason For Living".
The crowning glory of the event would be Saturday's triple-header, in the shape of Mikey/Jimmy acoustic, Woodedz and finally Quotation. Mikey and Jimmy once again played an hour-long acoustic set, with highlights including "Over The Edge" and a very amusing version of "Boring Song" (much to the delight of onlooker Rhino!). 'Woodedz' played a great rock set including favourites "Bad News" and "Lucinda", before 'Quotation' closed the event with an awesome Quo set including "Mean Girl" (with Rhino on bass), "That's A Fact", "Rolling Home", "Breaking Away", "Who Asked You" and "The Wild Ones".Revisit the May 2009 event list
