7th - "The Richie Malone Band" gig at Fibber Magees, Dublin, Ireland

Richie made his first outing with his new band - inventively-named "The Richie Malone Band" - on home turf on 7th April.

He arranged it in Dublin to suit Quo fans attending Francis's talk show, starting late in the evening to allow fans to wander over from the Ambassador Theatre to Fibber Magees.

The band's set was almost all Quo, played hard and fast. Fans reported fantastic sound and a great set, including a few classic rock standards such as "Brown Sugar" (Rolling Stones), "Black Night" (Deep Purple), "Rose-a-lee" (Thin Lizzy) and AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie" as the final song of the encore.

18th - "Live at Hammersmith '79" double album released as part of Record Store Day 2026

Record Store Day 2026 took place on 18th April and included a treat for Quo fans, in the form of the "Live at Hammersmith '79" double album. This limited edition set was pressed on translucent red vinyl and sold very well on the day.

The vinyl didn't include the entire set (due to time limitations on a vinyl LP pressing) and was missing "Hold You Back" and a mammoth version of "4500 Times". Thankfully, a double CD offering (packaged neatly in a gatefold 7" sleeve) was released by Demon Music Group on 24th April (with catalogue number EDSL0283) which included the full set for the first time on CD.
